We are seeking a responsible team member for a full time dog bather/receptionist position at our grooming salon. The Bather is responsible to properly prepare, bathe and finish pets by using humane practices and minimizing pet stress. Additionally, the Bather is responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of the grooming area of the store.

Our receptionists must have positive attitude, friendly, and give our clients superior customer service both in person and over the phone. Our receptionists are responsible for taking appointments and receiving care instructions from pet owners so applicants must pay attention to detail, communicate effectively and requires basic computer knowledge.

Dog Bather Responsibilities and Duties

• Performs bath functions as requested by the client and described on the grooming notes.
• Trims nails, brushes teeth, and cleans ears in a safe manner and as trained.
• Bathe, dry and brush out as instructed and in compliance with store grooming procedures.
• Bathing stations should be kept clean between bathing, tools cleaned and ready for the next use.
• Water spills and any other safety risks should be promptly attended to, mopped or cleaned up.
• Follow all safety rules.
• Ask for assistance immediately if a pet demonstrates unusual stress.
• Tubs, holding areas and all services should be washed/disinfected and ready for the next day’s use before shift’s end.
• Keep the receptionist informed about pets that are ready for pick-up.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Receptionist Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide the best customer service to our clients.
• Booking appointments for grooming by email, phone, text and in person.
• Answering phones and emails in response to client questions.
• Taking detailed and thorough notes on all animal care instructions.
• Processing payments.
• Communicating with other team members effectively.
• Daily housekeeping (sweeping, mopping, dusting, organizing etc.).
• Assisting other groomer staff member in any needed tasks.
• Any duties that may be assigned by management.
• Computer work.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must be able to handle using disinfectants and cleaning up urine and feces.
• Must work well with people and animals.
• Must have keen observation skills to notice an animal in discomfort.
